Tradescantia Purple Zebrina is a tender evergreen perennial native to northeast Mexico grown as an ornamental for its striking purple foliage. A popular houseplant, this trailing evergreen perennial sports attractive green to purple leaves with two wide silver longitudinal stripes. Fast growing and easy to grow, it works well in hanging baskets or containers where its leaves trail gracefully over the edges.

Zebrina loves light and can tolerate all day lighting in a home environment. We advise bright but indirect light to avoid sunburn damage to the leaves. The more natural sunlight a Zebrina gets, the less variegated it becomes and the more purple its leaves will be.

Like our other foliage plants, Zebrina should be watered when the soil begins to dry out. Keep the top inch of soil moist, which usually means watering once a week.
